The Neepawa Farmers may in fact have last year's Manitoba Senior Baseball League MVP back in the lineup at some point this season.

Farmers manager Mike Levandosky says after a conversation with team executives, it was decided late last week that the team should include Rodriguez on the roster as there is a possibility he could return later in the year.

Rodriguez, an American import, played an integral role as a pitcher/infielder last season, helping the Farmers reach the MSBL championship final.

Levandosky told myWestman.ca in a story published earlier this month that Rodriguez, along with two other American imports Eddie Malone and Vince Luhan, would not be coming back to Neepawa to play for the Farmers in 2013.

Rodriguez finished the 2012 regular season with a .276 batting average, seven RBI and five stolen bases for the Farmers. On the mound, he finished with six wins, 43 strikeouts and a 3.47 earned run average.

The Farmers begin the season on Friday when they travel to Brandon to take on the defending MSBL champion Cloverleafs.
