The musical instruments are loaded up and the bus with young musicians is going to Dauphin, where many honour students are gathering for a two day rehearsal, followed by a concert. Different schools are gathered, new friends are made. We were able to take in the concert, which was fantastic. What a privilege these children have to get music lessons in school.
Music is well known for its uplifting, but also soothing effect on people of all ages. David, in the Bible, must have known that because he played for Kings, but also to glorify God. He even suggests in Psalm 150 to use instruments of all sorts and make a melodious sound: “Praise the Lord! Praise Him with trumpet sound ….. with harp and lire …..with stringed instruments and pipe ….. with loud cymbals ….. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord …..”
The Lord, our Saviour, is waiting for us to praise Him with our voices and instruments. Let us praise the Lord.
