In our little songbook we have this great hymn “Thank You.”

The original words and music are by Martin G. Schneider. It has seven verses and each verse mentions three items that we should be thankful for. It starts out to be thankful for a new day and that we can cast the worries on to the Lord. Then it tells us to be thankful for family and friends, for our occupation and the music that we can enjoy. We can be thankful that we have God’s Word, the Bible, and what it means to us. These are only the first four verses. In the last verse, it shares our thankfulness to the Lord whose love is boundless and can fill us with gladness and joy.

This Thanksgiving’s Day, when we gather together with family and friends we could make a list and tell each other what we are thankful for. It could be a bountiful harvest or gathering together as a family. We have so much to be thankful for.
