Lac du Bonnet RCMP respond to fatal collision

On Sunday, at 11:35 a.m., Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded to a fatal collision at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 44 in the Rural Municipality of Whitemouth.

A westbound car and a eastbound motorcycle collided. The two occupants of the motorcycle, a 61-year-old male and a 50-year-old female from the Pine Falls area, were deceased on scene. Both were wearing helmets.

The two occupants of the car, an 88-year-old male and a 62-year-old female from Winnipeg, suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the collision.

The names of the deceased will not be released.
 

Killarney RCMP respond to drowning

On Friday at approximately 7 p.m., Killarney RCMP responded to a report of a drowning at Rock Lake, about 40 kilometres east of Killarney.

Three males were fishing in a boat when one male, 21, from Winkler, fell into the water. Attempts were made by others in the boat to assist the male, but he did not resurface and is presumed drowned. None of the occupants of the boat were wearing life jackets.

The name of the male will not be released.
