The Harvest Sun Music Festival will be receiving some financial support from the federal government.

On behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Robert Sopuck, Member of Parliament (Dauphin-Swan River-Marquette), announced $13,900 in funding on Monday.

"This festival features some of the best artists this community and this province have to offer," said Sopuck in a release. "It celebrates our past and our present, while helping build a bright future."

The ninth edition of the Harvest Sun Music Fest is taking place in the village of Kelwood, from Aug. 15 to 17. This outdoor festival will feature musical performances by more than a dozen local and Canadian artists, as well as agricultural heritage presentations and demonstrations.

The Government of Canada is providing this funding through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
