Six ACC students to compete at 20th annual Skills Canada

Six students from Assiniboine Community College in Brandon will be competing at the upcoming 20th annual Skills Canada National Competition.

The ACC competitors consist of Elgin's Lucas Tufts, a student in the Industrial Metals Fabrication program, who will be competing in the Precision Machining competition; Brandon's Brett McKee, a student in the Civil Technician program, who will be competing in the Mechanical CAD competition; Niverville's Jordan Neufeld, a student in the Computer Systems Technology program, who will be competing in the IT Network Systems Administration competition; Brandon's Shawnee Holmes, a student in the Interactive Media Arts program, who will be competing in the Web Design competition; Oak River's Melodee Peters, a student in the Office Administration program, who will be competing in the IT Software Solutions for Business competition; and Isabella's Holly Campbell, a student in the Culinary Arts program, who will be competing in the Baking competition.

The ACC competitors will join the rest of Team Manitoba at the SCNC.

Skills Canada is a national competition that brings together more than 550 students and apprentices to compete in over 40 skilled trade and technology competitions. Nearly 15,000 spectators and exhibitors are expected to attend the 20th anniversary of SCNC this year.

This year's competition will be held in Toronto, June 4-7.
