The Neepawa and District Chamber of Commerce has confirmed it will be bringing the Saturn Shows travelling carnival show to the community, June 6-8.

About 10-12 rides, concessions, including cotton candy, popcorn, mini donuts and candy apples, as well as carnival games have all been confirmed through Saturn Shows.

The Chamber has confirmed there will be a dunk tank and several vendors as well. They’re also in the midst of securing a petting zoo, pony rides, evening entertainment and a three-versus-three basketball tournament.

To highlight their business membership, the Chamber will also be hosting a Near-Midnight Madness for Friday, June 5, which will see participating businesses keep their doors open until 11 p.m. with special deals and prizes offered.

“We’re a big enough community to support having a fair like this, and I think it’ll really bring some excitement and life to town again,” said Chamber president Troy Mutch. “It’s a big draw and will bring lots of people to the community. Obviously for us, as a Chamber, that’s what we want to do for our business community. I think this will be a great opportunity for us.”

To highlight Neepawa’s downtown business sector, the fair will be held on the parking lot at the former Co-op Grocery Store along Mountain Avenue.

Neepawa last hosted a fair in 2010 as part of the Manitoba Homecoming celebrations.
