Announcing a profit has become a pleasant habit for the Beautiful Plains Credit Union.

The board of directors, staff and dozens of members gathered for a celebratory supper and an annual general meeting on April 9.

"I am pleased to report that the Beautiful Plains Credit Union has had another profitable year and we have grown to exceed $101 million in assets and we had a net income of $645,000 after providing for a patronage payment of $200,000," said president Keith Jury. "This brings our total patronage payment to $3.14 million since we first started paying patronage."

General Manager Gord Sylvester reviewed the financial statements in detail. Entertainment meanwhile was provided by the Neepawa Choraliers.

Director Kathy Drysdale, who had served three terms, decided not to seek re-election to the board of directors. She was recognized for her contribution with a card and a gift.

Bruce Bremner, who was re-elected to the board, received a 15-year pin, while Marg Loucks received a 25-year pin for service on the board.

Greg McConnell was also re-elected to the board, while Jackie Olmstead was elected for her first term.

The Beautiful Plains Credit Union has branches in Neepawa and Glenella and works together with the Minnedosa Credit Union.
