Neepawa and Area Immigrant Settlement Services held an open house on Friday afternoon at its new location.

The event was a chance for the employees at NAISS to showcase a much larger office. The organization, which is known for assisting the integration of immigrants in the community, moved to the second floor of the building on 342 Mountain Avenue in November. The new location is approximately 2,000 square feet and has all the amenities the NAISS were looking for.

"One of our settlement workers keeps saying she needs a GPS to get around," joked Cheryl Campbell, settlement services coordinator. "We have privacy now. When a client comes in, he or she has more privacy and confidentiality is very important."

The NAISS, which also serves the Gladstone and Minnedosa communities, now has a daycare, rooms for workshops as well as a boardroom. Campbell says that the organization has also grown from two to four employees.

"Everything that we're able to do has expanded and we love it," she continued. "There are still a few things that need to be done in terms of construction in this office, but believe me, we're really happy with it."

Campbell says anyone who comes to the office are welcome to sign up for the workshops that are available.

"If anyone has anything they'd like to learn more about, let us know. We'd be more than happy to help," she concluded.
