Virden RCMP respond to snowmobile-related fatality

On New Years Day, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Virden RCMP were dispatched to a rural property in the RM of Woodworth, northeast of Virden, in response to a report of a man trapped by a snowmobile.

The 55-year-old male was found pinned between the track that propels the snowmobile and the machine itself.

Local emergency services worked on the man, but he was pronounced deceased on scene. An autopsy has been ordered and will take place in Brandon.
