Vehicle collision near Oak Lake turnoff

On Wednesday, shortly before 1 p.m., Melita RCMP responded to three separate vehicle collisions on Highway 1, three kilometres east of the Oak Lake turnoff.

Seven vehicles in total were involved with the initial one having taken place between a pickup truck and a semi-trailer. This collision caused three other vehicles to take evasive action as all three went off the road.

Blowing snow and poor visibility were contributing factors.

There were no injuries reported.

Highway 1 was closed for approximately an hour and a half but has since reopened.
