Rivers 4-H Beef Club held its seventh meeting on Sunday, April 3 at Rivers Collegiate. A number of members did very well at communications. Leaders met with Rivers Ag Society to discuss achievement on fair day. Many of our older members participated in the calf scrambles at the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, with many catching a calf!

Our club has been invited to a floor hockey tournament hosted by Oak Lake 4-H on April 24 at 1 p.m. The members will be hosting a barbecue at Enns Brothers in Brandon on May 7 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Highway cleanup is May 21; members will be walking in the ditches to pick up any garbage, so please drive carefully. Our rain date for highway cleanup is May 28. Steer pictures are on May long weekend; all members must also complete their steer write-up and forward it to Rachel Veitch. Our next meeting is on May 1.

Our club is having their annual rally day on June 5 at the fairgrounds. Clinicians will be hosting stations to help members better prepare for achievement. Members will compete in a fun contest to see who makes the best dessert!

Older members of the club continue to prepare for their summer exchange trip.
