The Arizona State University Sun Devils, which includes former Neepawa Natives captain Troy Hoban, are the American Collegiate Hockey Association champions after defeating Robert Morris University 3-1 in the final on Tuesday night.

The Sun Devils were ranked No. 1 in the ACHA polls for most of the season and entered this year's ACHA national tournament as the No. 1 overall seed.

As a freshman this year, Hoban, a blueliner, played 22 games for the team, including the championship final against Robert Morris.

Arizona State University is located in the Phoenix metropolitan area of Tempe, AZ.

Hoban, who hails from West St. Paul, Minn., played with the Natives for two seasons from 2011-2013.
